OUR Executive DIRECTOR

Kelly Meholic was appointed as the first Executive Director of the Alpharetta Symphony in 2020, a role that complements her extensive experience as Principal Flutist and former President of the Board of Directors. Kelly is passionate about uniting the Alpharetta community through the arts, sharing in the Alpharetta Symphony’s mission to inspire, connect, educate, and enrich the city of Alpharetta and North Fulton through the magic of classical music.

Her extensive musical training and experience have infused her leadership with profound artistic insight and vision, elevating the Symphony to new heights. During her tenure as Executive Director, the Alpharetta Symphony has experienced remarkable growth in its finances, audience engagement, education and outreach experiences, and organizational strength. 

Her musical journey began under the guidance of Betsy Hudson-Traba, Principal Flutist of the Sarasota Orchestra. During her formative years, Kelly demonstrated an extraordinary commitment to her craft, achieving numerous accolades, including multiple first-place finishes in the Florida All-State program. Her passion for orchestral music flourished in the Sarasota Youth Orchestra, where she culminated her early achievements by winning their prestigious Young Artists Competition. Summers at the renowned Interlochen Arts Camp in Michigan further enriched her artistry, offering invaluable experiences with esteemed instructors such as Nancy Stagnitta and Katherine DeJongh, and the unforgettable opportunity to perform under the legendary Frederick Fennell.

Kelly pursued her Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance with a minor in Italian at Florida State University, studying under Eva Amsler. She further refined her skills at the Conservatorio della Svizzera italiana in Lugano, Switzerland, where she earned a Master of Arts in Flute Performance under the mentorship of Mario Ancillotti, Stefano Parrino, and Giovanni Crola.

Throughout her career, Kelly has performed with orchestras in Florida, Georgia, and Switzerland, and has inspired and educated countless flute students across the globe. Her unwavering commitment to music and community continues to shape the vibrant arts landscape in Alpharetta and beyond.
